Ancient Path Biblical Coaching is an independent publication and biblical coaching service launched by Jason Posey and John Sherrod, with a focus on helping men escape pornography addiction and/or sexual immorality, through story based trauma care. The path towards change is often a dark road; don't go it alone.

Too many men, over too many generations, have suffered under the weight of their sexual addictions. But, since most generations had no tools to overcome, society just decided to make it mainstream, make it normal, make it profitable.

Pornography and sexual immorality are no longer fringe activities; they are practically cornerstones of our culture. Truth is that what is really being offered is instant gratification with a healthy dose of brain damage, a dead heart, a dead sex drive, and ultimately the loss of marriages, jobs, integrity, etc... The path out of this addiction is hard and dark. We've walked it. And now we offer our hard earned wisdom and invite you to join a community of men walking in freedom, walking according to God's design.

This is an organic, narrative driven community. Narration drives our journey, our healing, our communication with God, and the world. It is through narration that you will find your freedom.

Each life is a story. A poetic ballad of victory and defeat, of learning and growing, of loss and gain... How you come to know someone is through their story. How you will come to know yourself is through your story. We will guide you.

Through one on one sessions, and/or through small, focused groups, you will be encouraged and guided by the Holy Spirit to tell your story, and allow others to speak into your story, ask questions, and ultimately, help you find healing and freedom.

You also have the opportunity to subscribe to our weekly content and community groups. The content is designed to offer weekly guidance, strength, and wisdom. You can also join a community of like-minded warriors, dedicated to walking the ancient path.

Who we are

John Sherrod

John's toolbox includes lots of freedom training, a life transition certification (2022) from Liminal Space, story workshops and a certificate in narrative-focused trauma care level 1 (April 2024) and level 2 (April 2025) from the Allender Center, where John is currently finishing up his level 3 certification. My plan is to continue to train in the story, and to grow my ability to help others understand, communicate, and build on their life experiences and give their testimony in the community.

In 2015, at a defining crossroads in life, I chose a new path grounded in faith, accountability, and transformation. What began as a moment of honest self-reflection became a complete life reset—changing my work, lifestyle, relationships, and priorities. Through faith, community, and perseverance, I found freedom from past struggles and a renewed purpose. Today, my journey continues as I walk the path of growth, renewal, and helping others discover lasting change.

Since 2015, this Ancient Path has been my journey. Finding out where it all went wrong, pulling the roots of that dead life and its wounds out of my heart, and letting Jesus cultivate new soil in my spirit and soul. It’s been painful, it has cost more than I ever expected, and it has at times been absolutely maddening. I honestly did not always think that I would survive it. Playing with your past is no joke, discipline is hard fought, the path meanders through dark territory. It is not for the light of heart. I still plug way at other areas of my heart to this day, cause the journey never ends, and we are all continuous little works in progress.

My training and certifications are all from the school of life. I hope they are of value to you. If so, praise God. Because it is all Him.
